Getting Started

What is SkillsClinic?

SkillsClinic is a free learning platform by No Worker Left Behind that curates high-quality career training courses from trusted partners like IBM SkillsBuild. We help you find the right course faster—so you can build job-ready skills without getting lost in endless options.

How do I get started?

Getting started is easy! Simply browse our course catalog, find a course that matches your interests and skill level, click "View details" to learn more, then click "Go to course" to start learning on our partner's platform. Most courses let you begin immediately after creating a free account.

Do I need any prior experience?

Not necessarily! We offer courses for all skill levels—from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Use our filters to find courses labeled "Beginner" if you're just starting out. Each course page also describes who the course is designed for.

Courses & Learning

Are SkillsClinic courses really free?

Yes! All courses featured on SkillsClinic are free to access. Our partners like IBM SkillsBuild offer these courses at no cost to help people build career skills. Some partners may offer optional paid certifications or premium features, but the core learning content is always free.

How long do courses take to complete?

Course duration varies widely—from quick 1-2 hour introductions to comprehensive programs that take 20+ hours. Each course listing shows the estimated duration, so you can choose courses that fit your schedule. Most courses are self-paced, letting you learn at your own speed.

What topics are available?

We offer courses across in-demand fields including Data & Analytics, AI & Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Web Development, Cloud Computing, IT Support, Business & Professional Skills, and Design & UX. We're constantly adding new courses and topics.

Can I take multiple courses at once?

Absolutely! There's no limit to how many courses you can enroll in. However, we recommend focusing on one or two courses at a time to maximize retention and actually complete what you start. Quality of learning matters more than quantity.

Are the courses self-paced or scheduled?

Most courses on SkillsClinic are self-paced, meaning you can start anytime and learn at your own speed. Some courses may have optional live sessions or cohort-based elements—these details are noted on individual course pages.

Credentials & Certificates

Can I earn certificates or credentials?

Yes! Many courses offer digital badges or certificates upon completion. These credentials can be added to your LinkedIn profile, resume, and Credly account. Look for the credential icon on course cards to identify courses that offer certifications.

Are the credentials recognized by employers?

Our partner credentials, especially those from IBM SkillsBuild, are recognized and valued by employers worldwide. IBM badges, for example, are industry-recognized and demonstrate verified skills to potential employers.

How do I share my credentials?

Most credentials are issued through Credly or similar platforms. Once earned, you'll receive instructions to claim your badge. From there, you can share directly to LinkedIn, add to your email signature, embed on your resume, or share the verification link with employers.

Partners & Content

Who creates the courses?

Courses are created and maintained by our trusted partners, including IBM SkillsBuild and other industry leaders. SkillsClinic curates and organizes these courses to help you find the right learning path—we don't create the course content ourselves.

Why do I need to create an account on partner sites?

Since courses are hosted by our partners, you'll create an account on their platform (like IBM SkillsBuild) to access the content. This also allows you to track your progress, earn credentials, and access your learning history directly with the course provider.

How do you choose which courses to feature?

We carefully select courses that are: completely free to access, from reputable providers, relevant to current job market demands, and offer genuine value for career advancement. We prioritize quality over quantity.

Technical & Access

What devices can I use to access courses?

Most courses are accessible on any device with an internet connection—desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Some courses may work better on larger screens, especially those involving coding or hands-on labs.

Do I need to install any software?

Most courses run entirely in your web browser with no installation required. Some advanced courses (like coding or cloud computing) might recommend specific tools, but these are usually free and instructions are provided within the course.

Can I download courses for offline viewing?

This depends on the partner platform. Some courses offer downloadable resources or mobile apps with offline features. Check the specific course platform for offline options.
